Un-Twisting the Twisted Agenda

Having had a concealed carry permit for 34 years, not one of my guns has ever loaded itself, cleaned itself, removed itself from its holster and has never discharged itself or caused any threat or harm from merely existing as an object in my possession. The insane notion that my legally owned and responsibly carried guns will commit a crime because they simply exist is ridiculous. Yet so many want to take my right to possess and carry away from me. What now? Simply reclassify an object and identify it as an “assault-weapon” and then ban it. The problem is, it’s impossible for an object to commit an assault unless a person makes it a weapon in order to commit an assault. It’s time to end this confusion.

 

Today's Lesson: Write down the following points three times while reading the words out loud. After completing this simple task, perhaps you will clearly understand that you cannot change the facts to be something they are not. We have a people problem; not an object problem. People have emotional and ideological issues that create responses and actions; objects do not.

 

ASSAULT:

noun: a sudden, violent attack; onslaught:

verb: to make an assault upon; attack; assail.

 

WEAPON:

noun: anything used against an opponent, adversary, or victim

(anything = gun, knife, hammer, pipe, screwdriver, axe, ice pick, a person's hand, fist, foot, elbow, etc)

 

An object only becomes a WEAPON when it is used against an opponent, adversary, or victim as an act of an ASSAULT. An object cannot become a WEAPON in an act of an ASSAULT unless a person having the will, intent, motive and opportunity to use an object as a WEAPON in the commission of an ASSAULT against an opponent, adversary, or victim

 

THEREFORE...any object on it's own is not a WEAPON and is incapable of committing an ASSAULT without a person having the will, intent, motive and opportunity to use an object as a WEAPON in the commission of an ASSAULT against an opponent, adversary, or victim.

 

CONCLUSION: Reclassifying ordinary objects as a WEAPON in order to ban their possession or use is absolutely absurd. Recognizing and acknowledging a person having the will, intent, motive and opportunity to use an object as a WEAPON in the commission of an ASSAULT against an opponent, adversary, or victim is a better solution to the problem at hand. Of course it's much easier to blame the object than to characterize the signs of radical violent behavior of a person who commits such acts.

 

Now don’t you feel better and safer now? You no longer have to fear objects; you only need to fear people with demented criminally warped minds. I know its not as easy to point your finger at and hate, but it is what you must learn to recognize and protect yourself from!
