Happy Holidays!

As the year swiftly approaches an end, a new year will be upon us, but unfortunately, not much will change or improve within the vast world of injustice. It is becoming increasingly important for each of us to start to look at what is going on around us and learn to understand and find the distinction between truth and allegation. It is so difficult to determine if those who seem to corroborate the truth are motivated by doing what is right or to seek some monetary reward or position by riding on the coat tails of some pending lawsuit or action. If we simply continue to let the media hype fulfill our curiosity for the truth, then we will likely never delve further to seek the facts behind the hype. In order to give someone the presumption of innocence; we must sometimes play the devil's advocate against what the media tells us is so. We must try to step outside our own biases and opinions and step into the shoes of the accused and ask yourself some common sense questions of "what if" or "why would", when examining the situation in front of us.

From the countless accounts by investigative media, the Innocent Projects and other sources around the country; we learn that not everything we see or hear is based in fact and truth. Too much of the many false allegations, constitutional violations and wrongful convictions have been proven to be driven by corruption, greed and politics. Profits and Power are the driving forces behind so many injustices and innocent people are the trading commodity to keep this injustice system alive and functioning.

I predict in 2012, the average American family will see someone close to them, suffer the swift hand of injustice in some form. Even if you have read everything I have written, watched the news and seen the proof; you will still be caught by disbelief and wonder how this could be happening and that a person's innocence and constitutional rights should never be placed in jeopardy...but it will and will continue as long as it is profitable and politically beneficial to someone.

Be safe and smart in 2012. Be aware and don't be blindsided by a not-so-blind justice system!

The Science of Bias

--> I have been following Dr. Dror since the airing of “ The Real CSI ” on Frontline back in April 2012. Since then he has published many additional articles relating to the subject of Cognitive Bias and how it plays in the handling of forensic evidence and those that are “experts” in those fields. The Fruit Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree...Or Does It?

Do you ever wonder what makes our views so different from others around us? I mean we seem to hold the same principles and core beliefs, but yet we differ in so many other ways. Is it the way we grew up or was it the environment we found ourselves surrounded by? There must be something that makes us take such polar opposite views on many things and yet unites us on others.
