Police: Family accuses man of sex abuse

Really? Charged as an adult? He would have been 12 if the alleged victim was 7. What caused the victim to contact DSS/CPS at 17 to now go after this then 12 year old? Was it sexual abuse? Did it really happen? Too vague unless there was physical evidence of sexual activity. Today's children are much more sexually aware at younger ages than we may want to acknowledge. The problem here is the reporting some 10 years later and alleging something that could potentially ruin a young man's life upon only the word of the accuser. If there was sexual contact rather than adolescent touching, one would think the parents would have taken more considerable action back when it allegedly occurred. We really need to think hard and examine closely the collateral damage from assuming mere words reflect the truth without corroborating evidence. Please read this report of juvenile prosecutions. Once we allow officials into our children's lives; parents can no longer control the situation and your children will be handled the way the government feels is necessary. That could result in innocent child's play requiring incarceration, registry for life or both. This is a fine line topic with no room for assumptions!

The Science of Bias

--> I have been following Dr. Dror since the airing of “ The Real CSI ” on Frontline back in April 2012. Since then he has published many additional articles relating to the subject of Cognitive Bias and how it plays in the handling of forensic evidence and those that are “experts” in those fields. The Fruit Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree...Or Does It?

Do you ever wonder what makes our views so different from others around us? I mean we seem to hold the same principles and core beliefs, but yet we differ in so many other ways. Is it the way we grew up or was it the environment we found ourselves surrounded by? There must be something that makes us take such polar opposite views on many things and yet unites us on others.
