America's Injustice - GUILTY!
I recently took the time to read about a man, Jeffrey Deskovic, who spent 16 years of his youth, incarcerated for a rape and murder he did not commit. In September 2006, Jeffrey was released from a NYS prison and was exonerated of all crimes against him, thanks to the Innocence Project's devotion to the wrongfully convicted in America.
Jeffrey is a regular contributor to the Westchester Guardian , his own website Jeffrey Deskovic Speaks along with many other blogs and other articles about the injustices surrounding wrongful convictions and the difficulty of remaining innocent in our system of justice. Jeffrey shares his first hand experiences from his wrongful conviction, failed appeals, real life experiences in prison and life after exoneration. These stories are shared by him and told by hundreds across this country, but seldom listened to or taken seriously as to the constant deterioration of our "presumption of innocence" and the protection of our constitutional rights within the courts of our country.

was late, and dismiss the petition. It did not matter to her that I was arguing my innocence as established by the DNA or that my Fifth Amendment Rights had been violated." Yes this is the famous TV Judge Pirro that boasts of her "100% Conviction Rate" as DA. Anyone with a 100% conviction rate has likely trampled upon the rights and lives of innocent persons in order to reach such political stature, and Jeffrey Deskovic is living, breathing proof of it! But what the heck. She's a big TV celebrity and was able to advance her career, notoriety and her income. Isn't that what it's all about anyways?
I think as a responsible and knowledgable public, we should read Jeffrey's story and articles to have a real understanding of what truly exists in so many of our courts, prosecuting offices and law enforcement agencies locally and across our country. There are countless groups and organizations gaining national attention in the fight toward injustice, misconduct and other actions that continually subject innocent persons to false pleas and wrongful convictions by juries that automatically trust and have faith that those who appear to work in the name of justice and are supposed to do so without prejudice or malice. Our constitution is being bent, twisted and manipulated to the point that nobody can recognize it any longer; especially our courts and those prosecuting cases before those courts.
As you will read in Jeffrey's articles, getting wrongfully convicted is only the beginning of these injustices. Maintaing your innocence, affording adequate counsel and surviving incarceration are the other strategic roadblocks set in place to keep the truth from being heard!
